Turkey imported 6.6 mln tons of ferrous scrap during the first four months of 2026, up slightly compared with the same period last year, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute.
The United States remained Turkey’s largest scrap supplier, exporting 1.4 mln tons during the January-April period. The Netherlands ranked second with 861,000 tons, followed by the United Kingdom with 715,000 tons.
In April, Turkey’s ferrous scrap imports totaled 1.86 mln tons, down around 1pct YoY but up more than 16pct compared with the previous month.
