EMSTEEL supplies low-carbon steel sheet piles for UK harbour project

UAE’s EMSTEEL Group has supplied low-carbon steel sheet piles through its distributor, Sheet Piling (UK) Limited, for the Annan Harbour regeneration project in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

The sheet piles are being used to form a cofferdam across the existing river, creating a dry working area for follow-on construction activities. The cofferdam comprises 53 pairs of 8.5-meter sheet piles, with tie bars providing lateral restraint.

Sheet Piling (UK) Limited is responsible for the supply and installation of the sheet piles. Sealant was applied to the pile interlocks to support watertightness, which is particularly important at the tidal riverside site.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement. The group exports to more than 70 markets, which account for around 30pct of total sales, and produces a broad range of steel products including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections and sheet piles.
