Salzgitter Flachstahl, a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, has launched TektoSal 450, a new wear-resistant special steel available as strip steel for applications exposed to abrasive wear.
The material combines high hardness with excellent toughness, while offering good weldability, formability and weather resistance. It is intended for wear-prone applications including earthmoving and mining machinery, dump trucks, tanks, containers and mixer transport systems.
TektoSal 450 is supplied as unpickled strip steel with natural edges in thicknesses of 3-5 mm and widths of 900-1,500 mm. It offers good bendability in both longitudinal and transverse directions, along with a wide dimensional range and good processing properties.
The steel can optionally be supplied with Salzgitter’s seca Xtra feature, which provides minimal flatness deviations in cut components.
