TK Accelis Processing Europe expands steel processing capacity at Stuttgart site

TK Accelis Processing Europe has ramped up its expanded steel processing facility in Stuttgart, Germany, following the commissioning of a new high-performance slitting and packaging line.

The company said the new slitting line has already processed its first 500 coils. The equipment can handle steel products with thicknesses ranging from 0.2 mm to 5.0 mm, including thin electrical steel strip for specialized applications.

Following the expansion, the Stuttgart service centre has annual steel processing capacity of up to 350,000 tons.

A new digitally integrated packaging line has also been commissioned, automating operations including material handling, stacking, protective packaging, strapping, weighing and labelling. The company said the integrated setup is designed to improve processing efficiency, product quality, traceability and turnaround times.

Processing, material handling and packaging operations, together with an automated knife assembly robot, are interconnected through TK Accelis’ proprietary toii digital platform, providing real-time production data and centralized process management.

TK Accelis Processing Europe, formerly Thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe, is a major European steel and aluminum service centre. The company processes carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum into customized slit strips and blanks, while also providing procurement, prefabrication and digital supply chain services through its network of processing facilities across Europe.
