    Tokyo Steel launches green steel brand

    Tokyo Steel Japan introduces Enso, its new green steel brand symbolizing the circular economy. Developed in partnership with global steel trading firm Stemcor, the Enso logo transitions from charcoal to green, representing the shift from carbon-intensive to sustainable production.

    Utilizing electric arc production and recycled steel scrap, Tokyo Steel reduces embodied carbon emissions. Enso’s initial product range includes HRC and HRP, having significantly lower carbon emissions compared to similar products from EU blast furnace producers.

    With stable monthly supply to the EU market, Tokyo Steel meets growing demand for low-carbon steel in construction, manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors. Plans are underway to introduce an ultra-low carbon emissions product, manufactured using 100pct renewable energy, later in 2024, the company said.
