Pakistan’s scrap imports surged by 50pct YoY in June 2024, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The country imported a total of 250,734 tons of scrap during the month, compared to 167,075 tons in the same period the previous year.
Over the first five months of 2024, Pakistan’s scrap imports saw a nearly 24pct YoY increase, totaling 1.16 mln tons.
