Tata Steel India delivers strong Q1 performance with record sales and production growth

Tata Steel reported a 5pct YoY increase in crude steel production to 5.25 mln tons in Q1 FY25 in its Indian operations. However, production was lower compared to the previous quarter due to planned maintenance shutdowns.

In the Netherlands, Tata Steel’s crude steel production for the quarter was 1.52 mln tons, up from 0.94 mln tons in the same quarter last fiscal year and 1.48 mln tons in the previous quarter. Steel deliveries in the Netherlands were 1.52 mln tons, up 11pct YoY and 6.3pct quarter-over-quarter, driven by improved production.

Tata Steel UK’s liquid steel production was 0.68 mln tons, with deliveries at 0.69 mln tons. Operations at Blast Furnace 5 in Port Talbot have ceased, with the last liquid iron produced on July 4th, and the furnace is now being safely decommissioned.
