Corinth Pipeworks to supply steel pipes for Trion oilfield project

Corinth Pipeworks has secured a significant contract from Woodside Energy, the operator of Mexico’s Trion deepwater field, to produce and deliver approximately 118 kilometers of High Frequency Welded (HFW) steel pipes. The Trion oilfield, situated in the Perdido Fold Belt within Mexican waters of the Gulf of Mexico, represents Mexico’s first deepwater production site, with potential for future tie-backs to its facilities.

Woodside Energy, holding a 60pct stake and serving as the operator, collaborates with Pemex Exploracion y Produccion, which owns 40pct of the alliance. The project entails a wet tree subsea system connected to an infield floating production unit (FPU) and linked to a floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit, ensuring efficient resource extraction and processing.

Corinth Pipeworks will also handle external coating and concrete weight coating (CWC) at the same location where the pipes are manufactured.

Corinth Pipeworks, a division of Cenergy Holdings, is a supplier of high quality steel pipes for the energy and construction markets. The company’s plant is located in Thisvi, Viotia, Greece with an annual production capacity of 1 mln tons.
