Caleotto SPA, a Feralpi Group company specializing in wire rod production for value-added special steel, has selected AIC to upgrade its rolling mill. AIC will supply power control and automation cabinets for the new Garrett line, working alongside the mechanical supplier.
Additionally, AIC has been tasked with designing and supplying a complete CCTV system for monitoring the new line. They will also modify, upgrade, and expand the existing AIC recipes system and the tracking and Level 2 platform to align with the new production configuration.
Feralpi Group, now holding 100pct equity in Caleotto SpA, acquired full control of the Lecco-based plant by purchasing Duferco Italia Holding’s 50pct share in 2020. As a major European long steel manufacturer, the group has a total annual production capacity of 2.45 mln tons.
