Emirates Steel Arkan rebrands as EMSTEEL to boost global presence and sustainability

Emirates Steel Arkan, the UAE’s largest publicly listed steel and building materials company, has rebranded as EMSTEEL to accelerate its operational transformation and expand its global presence.

The rebranding reflects the successful 2021 merger of Emirates Steel and Arkan Building Materials, which created the UAE’s largest steel and building materials company with strong growth potential both domestically and internationally, EMSTEEL said in a press release.

Under the EMSTEEL name, the company will operate through two key divisions: Emirates Steel and Emirates Cement. The Emirates Cement division includes Al Ain Cement Factory, Emirates Blocks Factories, Anabeeb, and Arkan Bags, focusing on high-quality products for the UAE and global markets. This structure also allows for the seamless addition of new divisions to support growth into new markets and product lines.

Group CEO Eng. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi stated that the new brand represents a unified vision for growth and sustainability, with a commitment to reducing carbon emissions in line with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative. EMSTEEL is a global leader in low-carbon steel production, operating with 45pct less carbon emissions than peers, and is the first steelmaker to capture its CO2 emissions.

Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement annually. The group exports to over 70 markets, accounting for 30pct of its sales. The company offers a diverse range of steel products, including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections, and sheet piles.
