In August 2024, Turkey’s HR steel exports reached approximately 229,000 tons, marking a significant YoY increase of 90pct, although this represents a 32pct decline from the previous month, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
From January to August 2024, Turkey exported around 1.6 mln tons of HR steel, nearly doubling the amount exported during the same period last year. Italy was the largest destination, receiving about 450,000 tons, followed by Spain with approximately 147,600 tons and Iraq with around 124,500 tons.
