Turkey’s scrap import prices declined this week amid a cautious market mood, with scrap buying activity limited by weak demand for finished steel. Scrap import prices are now assessed at USD 360-365 per ton CFR, down from USD 365-370 per ton CFR last week.
The initial optimism earlier this month has gradually faded over the past two weeks as domestic demand for finished steel continues to slow. Additionally, falling Chinese steel prices have dampened market sentiment, with Turkish steel sales in overseas markets also declining.
Turkish long steel export offers have dropped by USD 5 per ton over the past week. Rebar export offers are now between USD 610-620 per ton FOB, while wire rod export offers are around USD 625-635 per ton FOB.
