Axpo Italia, a leader in renewable energy, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Tenaris to supply Dalmine, Tenaris’ seamless steel tube factory in Italy, with 15 GWh of certified green energy annually.
This agreement aligns with other significant initiatives in Italy, including an electrolyser project with Snam and Tenova for on-site hydrogen production, and the Recovering Metals and Mineral Fraction (ReMFra) research project, co-financed by the European Commission, aimed at reusing waste from steel production to promote circular practices.
Additionally, two solar parks are being constructed in Italy and are expected to come online soon, Tenaris said. In line with its 2030 decarbonization goal, Tenaris is actively pursuing alternatives to reduce emissions across its global manufacturing network.
