Iberdrola and Acciaierie Venete Sign green energy supply agreement

Iberdrola, a global leader in renewable energy, and Acciaierie Venete Spa, a major player in the European steel market, have signed a multi-year Off-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 12 MW of capacity.

Under the agreement, Iberdrola will supply green energy from one of its photovoltaic plants, currently under construction, totaling 230 GWh over the contract period.

This energy supply is expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by approximately 6,960 tons, equivalent to the CO2 absorption of about 64,000 trees and the energy needs of around 5,800 households.

Acciaierie Venete has been an Italian steel producer since 1957, initially focusing on commodities such as ingots, billets, and rebars. In the 1980s, the company transformed its operations to produce high-quality long steel products. With an annual production capacity of about 2 mln tons, Acciaierie Venete operates multiple production and processing sites across Italy. The steel produced is utilized in various sectors, including automotive, earthmoving and agricultural equipment, energy, mechanical engineering, and construction.
