Turkey’s scrap import prices edged up slightly, fluctuating within a narrow range as suppliers held firm on prices despite a decline in Turkish steel prices. Current prices are assessed at USD 360-365 per ton CFR, up marginally from USD 355-365 per ton CFR the previous week.
Scrap purchasing activity has slowed due to weakening Turkish steel demand, while scrap suppliers resist lowering prices. Finished steel demand remains soft in both domestic and international markets, pushing export offers downward.
Turkish long steel export offers dropped by USD 5-10 per ton over the past week. Rebar export offers now range from USD 590 to 600 per ton FOB, with wire rod export offers around USD 610 to 620 per ton FOB.
