ArcelorMittal and HP have announced a strategic collaboration to advance steel additive manufacturing, combining ArcelorMittal’s sustainable steel solutions with HP’s expertise in additive manufacturing.
ArcelorMittal will use HP’s Metal Jet S100 technology for steel additive manufacturing, recognizing the strength of HP’s binder jetting technology. HP, in turn, has praised the performance of ArcelorMittal’s steel powders, which have shown excellent results with no adjustments needed to printing parameters.
The partnership aims to reduce costs per part, expand 3D printing possibilities, especially in the automotive sector, and develop steel products with unique properties that cannot be achieved through traditional manufacturing.
The collaboration will focus on achieving key technology milestones, with ArcelorMittal’s research center supporting the development of new applications. The goal is to enable smoother transitions to industrial production, offering customers cost-effective solutions and accelerating technology adoption.
