Turkey’s HRC imports totaled approximately 2.66 mln tons in the first nine months of 2024, a decline of 21pct compared to the same period last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
China was Turkey’s leading HRC supplier during this period, with imports amounting to around 1.37 mln tons from January to September 2024. Egypt was the second-largest supplier, exporting 419,000 tons, followed by Russia with 269,000 tons and South Korea with 227,000 tons.
In September 2024, Turkey’s HRC imports reached around 225,000 tons, down 30pct YoY and 8pct compared to the previous month.
