Major Chinese steel producer, Baowu Steel Group has signed two contracts with Tenova, a provider of sustainable solutions for the green transition of the metals industry.
The first contract involves the supply of four automatic CNC roll grinders with two automatic inspection stations, supported by an automatic roll loading system with two loaders. These systems will be installed at a plant where two new cold rolling mills for silicon steel are set to operate.
The second contract includes two automatic CNC roll grinders and an automatic inspection station, also equipped with an automatic roll loading system, to be installed in the roll shop of a new cold rolling mill dedicated to silicon steel production. Both roll shops will feature advanced automation, with all operations secured in segregated areas to eliminate human intervention. The systems will enable fast roll production with enhanced safety, quality, and efficiency, while minimizing production costs. Additionally, all processes will be digitally monitored through Pomini Tenova’s condition monitoring system.
