ArcelorMittal raises HRC prices in Europe

ArcelorMittal has increased its HRC prices in Europe, with new offers reported at EUR 630 (USD 659) per ton EXW for February rolling, up from EUR 600 per ton EXW previously.

The price hike follows the European Commission’s launch of a safeguard review on steel imports, which could result in tighter restrictions, including a 15pct cap on quotas for other countries’ volumes.

Additionally, the European Commission has started registering all HRC imports from Egypt, India, Japan, and Vietnam following the launch of an anti-dumping probe in August. This move may lead to the retroactive application of anti-dumping duties in October, potentially reducing interest in HRC imports and strengthening the position of the European steel industry, further supporting ArcelorMittal’s price increase.
