Turkish modular construction company Karmod has launched the fourth phase of its steel housing project in Dijon, France, according to a statement.
Ziya Yanik, Karmod’s foreign trade manager, highlighted the company’s ambition to expand in the French steel housing market, noting a stark contrast in adoption rates between Europe and Turkey. “While steel housing usage in France and Germany is around 30pct, it is just 2.5pct in Turkey due to regulatory and awareness challenges,” he said.
As part of the Dijon project, Karmod has begun constructing four 126-square-meter steel homes. Transported to France using three trucks, the homes are being assembled by Karmod’s in-house teams, with completion and handover expected within 38 days.
