India’s Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores has received approval to increase its annual iron ore production limit. The company will raise its production capacity from 3.81 mln tons per year to 4.36 mln tons per year.
Following this approval, Sandur Manganese will seek consent for operation (expansion) from the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, along with other necessary regulatory approvals.
Known for its operations in manganese and iron ore mining, power generation, and ferroalloy and coke production, Sandur Manganese has recently expanded its presence in the steel industry. This includes the acquisition of special steel producer, Arjas Steel, to strengthen its position in value-added products.
