Turkish steel mills maintained a cautious stance, refraining from making additional purchases at higher prices. On the supplier side, market activity remained subdued due to holiday-related slowdowns. A clearer market trend is anticipated next week.
Domestic finished steel demand stayed weak, prompting some producers to reduce local rebar prices in an effort to boost sales. Meanwhile, export activity was limited, with key overseas markets also quiet due to holiday periods.
Export prices for Turkish finished steel were unchanged this week. Rebar offers remained at USD 570-580 per ton FOB, while wire rod offers were stable at USD 585-595 per ton FOB.
