Pakistan’s rebar producer, Dost Steels Limited (DSL), has been unable to resume commercial operations this year due to insufficient working capital, according to a stock exchange filing.
Despite ongoing efforts, financial constraints have prevented the company from restarting full-scale production. DSL is actively working to resolve these financial challenges and is currently in discussions with its bank syndicate to settle outstanding debts.
DSL’s annual rebar production capacity is 350,000 tons, with its rolling mill supplied by Siemens-VAI/Primetals. The company has faced financial difficulties since 2019, leading to the suspension of production.
