NMDC Steel (NSL), an Indian steel producer with a capacity of 3 mln tons per annum, has become the first in the country to receive the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for hot rolled steel strip, sheet, and plates for welded steel pipe used in pipeline transportation systems under Indian Standard IS 18384:2023.
This certification, which sets stringent requirements for steel products in petroleum and natural gas pipeline systems, highlights NMDC Steel’s commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.
Previously, NMDC Steel also became the first Indian steel plant to secure four Integrated Management System (IMS) ISO certifications from BIS simultaneously. These achievements strengthens NMDC Steel’s position as a leader in high-quality steel products, supporting India’s infrastructure and energy sectors.
