Turkey imported 9.08 mln tons of iron ore in the first 11 months of 2024, a 14pct increase compared to the same period in the previous year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Brazil remained Turkey’s largest iron ore supplier during this period, providing approximately 4.69 mln tons, a slight decrease of 1.8pct from the previous year. Ukraine followed with 1.1 mln tons, and Sweden supplied 990,000 tons.
In November 2024, Turkey’s iron ore imports totaled 268,000 tons, a sharp decline of 63pct YoY and over 60pct compared to the previous month.
