Acciaierie Venete has chosen Danieli to supply a new 100-ton electric-arc furnace, complete with a fume-treatment plant and material handling system, to be installed at its Padova Works in Italy. This new furnace will enable the production of approximately 750,000 tons per year of high-quality, green engineering steels.
Equipped with several technological packages for fully automated operation, the furnace will ensure zero-man interaction for enhanced safety, while maintaining low dust and noise emissions to minimize environmental impact.
A key feature of the new furnace is Danieli’s patented Digital Electromagnetic Stirring system (DEAS), which improves the homogenization of liquid steel temperature and chemistry, optimizing operational efficiency. This system also helps lower transformation costs and reduce CO2 emissions, making the project eligible for government funding.
The electric-arc furnace will feature Danieli’s 3Q-pulpit automation system, offering operator assistance, an auto-pilot function, and process performance indicators (API/PPI), along with the Q-Robot Meltsample for remote monitoring.
Danieli will supply the equipment, automation, and installation for this brownfield project, scheduled for completion by Summer 2026, with a six-week shutdown period followed by a rapid ramp-up to full production.
