    Al-Babtain wins steel towers supply contract from SSEM

    Al-Babtain Power and Telecommunication Co. has secured a SAR 622 mln (USD 165.7 mln) contract from Saudi Services for Electro Mechanical Works Company (SSEM) to supply steel towers for overhead transmission lines, according to a stock exchange filing.

    The towers will be used for a new 500kV line-commutated converter high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line as part of the central-south interconnection link (Portion III).

    The 24-month contract is expected to positively impact Al-Babtain’s financial performance in Q4 2025, the company stated.

    Founded in 1955, Al-Babtain is a leading player in outdoor lighting, transmission and distribution, telecommunications, and renewable energy. Al-Babtain operates a high-voltage transmission and communication towers plant, a steel structure plant, a tower testing station, and four galvanizing plants in Saudi Arabia, as well as similar facilities in Egypt to serve the Middle Eastern communication sector. The company’s production capacity for towers is 170,000 tons annually in Saudi Arabia and 50,000 tons annually in Egypt.
