The Misrata-based Libyan Iron and Steel Company (LISCO) has announced the shipment of 26,300 tons of Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) to Italy.
The consignment is being loaded at LISCO’s port onto the vessel Sabeel Star, bound for the port of Marghera, Italy, the company said.
As of the third quarter of 2024, LISCO reported total HBI exports of approximately 383,233 tons. LISCO’s annual production capacities are 1.75 mln tons for Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and 650,000 tons for HBI, with crude steel production capacity reaching 1.7 mln tons per year. LISCO’s product portfolio includes slab, billet, rebar, wire rod, HRC, CRC and steel sections.
