Turkey’s scrap imports totaled 18.18 mln tons, a 6.2 pct increase YoY in the first eleven months of 2024, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In Jan-Nov 2024, Turkey imported 4.2 mln tons from the US, 2.5 mln tons from the Netherlands, and 1.97 mln tons from the UK.
In November 2024 alone, scrap import volume rose by 13.3 pct YoY and 19.9 pct month on month, reaching 1.76 mln tons.
