Tenova, a renowned global company specializing in sustainable solutions for the green transformation of the metals industry, has been awarded a new contract by Hoa Phat Group, Vietnam’s leading industrial manufacturing group. The contract entails the supply of new roll grinders from Pomini Tenova, a well-known brand within Tenova and a global leader in roll shop equipment production. These roll grinders will be installed in Hoa Phat’s new hot rolling mill located in Dung Quat, Quang Ngai province.
The roll shop project encompasses a comprehensive set of roll grinders, designed for precision grinding of work rolls and back-up rolls, both with and without mounting on chocks. These state-of-the-art machines are equipped with the advanced and user-friendly Pomini HMI (Human Machine Interface), ensuring seamless operation. Additionally, the roll grinders integrate the highly-regarded Pomini Inspektor3 system, equipped with Eddy Current and Ultrasound probes for efficient roll inspection. This system is widely recognized for its reliability in detecting online roll flaws, making it a preferred choice in the market.
To achieve the highest roll surface quality with precise profile accuracy and minimal stock removal, the roll grinders also incorporate the Pomini Process Monitoring (PPM) and Continuous Profile Compensation (CPC). These cutting-edge technologies ensure optimal performance during the grinding process.
Furthermore, Tenova’s digital package, including Tenova Edge technology and Tenova advisor, will provide constant remote condition monitoring for each machine, as well as comprehensive operational and maintenance support.
Hoa Phat Group operates across five sectors, with steel production being the core contributor, accounting for 90pct of the group’s revenue and profit. As the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, Hoa Phat boasts an impressive annual capacity of 8.5 mln tons of crude steel.
