SSAB and Framery have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate fossil-free steel into the production of office pods, marking a significant step in workspace sustainability.
Framery has made strides in sustainability by transitioning from plywood to steel, achieving a 23pct material reduction in their new smart pods and a 16pct average decrease in manufacturing-related carbon emissions.
Starting in 2026, Framery plans to utilize SSAB’s fossil-free steel, aiming to cut CO2 emissions by 50pct per pod by 2028 compared to 2023 levels, while increasing deliveries.
Both companies share a vision to rethink their manufacturing processes. SSAB is pioneering steelmaking with virtually zero fossil carbon emissions, while Framery continues to innovate in the office space. Their collaboration aims to shape a greener future for both industries.
