Posco has placed an order with Danieli Rotelec for a Multi-Mode Electro Magnetic Stirrer (MM-EMS) to be installed on slab caster #1 at steel plant #2 in Gwangyang Works, Korea.
Slab caster #3 at the same plant, which is identical to caster #1, already operates with a Danieli Rotelec MM-EMS.
The new MM-EMS will replace the existing mould technology from another supplier on slab caster #1, enabling the production of high-quality slabs.
Slab caster #1 is a two-strand caster, producing slabs with widths ranging from 800 to 1,600 mm and thicknesses of 250 mm, in ultra-low, low, medium, and high carbon grades.
