MITI reviews AD tariffs on CRC imports from China, South Korea, Japan & Vietnam

Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) has launched an administrative review of anti-dumping duties on imports of cold-rolled coils (CRC) of iron or non-alloy steel exceeding 1,300mm in width, excluding tin mill black plate. The review targets imports originating from China, South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.

The review was initiated at the request of Mycron Steel CRC Sdn Bhd, who argued that the expiry of these duties could result in continued or renewed dumping and harm to the domestic industry.

MITI announced that the final determination would be made within 180 days of the review’s initiation. Relevant interested parties will receive questionnaires and documentation as part of the process.

    The products under investigation fall under H.S. codes 7209.15.00 00, 7209.16.90 00, 7209.17.90 00, and 7209.18.99 00.

In 2019, Malaysia imposed anti-dumping duties on CRC imports ranging from 4.76pct to 26.38pct for China, 3.84pct for South Korean producers (excluding Posco), 26.39pct for Japan, and 7.7pct to 20.13pct for Vietnam.
