Turkey imported 20 mln tons of scrap in 2024, a 6.7pct YoY increase, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The U.S. remained Turkey’s top scrap supplier, delivering around 4.5 mln tons. The Netherlands followed with 2.7 mln tons, while the UK ranked third at 2.2 mln tons.
In December 2024, Turkey’s scrap imports reached 1.86 mln tons, up nearly 12pct YoY and 5.5pct higher than the previous month.
