AD Ports seeks interest for development plans for ports and ferry terminal

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (AD Ports) has issued a request for Expression of Interest for the development of marine and landside infrastructure at Delma Port, Jabal Dhanna Ferry Terminal, and Al Sila Port.

The project completion is expected within 18 months from the award date.

The Expression of Interest (EOI) invite was issued in August 2024. The timelines include Invitation to Tender (IIT) scheduled for October 2024 followed by bid submission by November 2024 and contract award by December 2024.

AD Ports may opt to tender the project as a single package or divide it into multiple packages, according to the EOI invite.

Delma Port, located on the eastern side of Delma Island near the airport, will undergo significant upgrades, including new berthing and mooring dolphins, modifications to the Ro-Ro ramp, and improvements to marine and landside infrastructure. Key developments include dredging, a new 175-meter sheet pile quay wall, a floating pontoon system, and a boat repair facility, along with necessary utility connections and security enhancements.

At the Jabal Dhanna Ferry Terminal, upgrades will involve new berthing and mooring dolphins and modifications to the Ro-Ro ramp for ferry operations. The project will ensure the terminal remains operational during construction, improving infrastructure for safe passenger and vehicle transfers in all tidal conditions.

At Al Sila Port, the largest public marina in Abu Dhabi, the focus will be on dredging, revetment works, and a boat repair facility. Additional features will include a 300-square-meter restaurant, interlocking paving for walkways, landscaping, and public amenities like picnic benches and trash bins, along with enhanced security systems, utility connections, and road markings/signage.
