Abu Dhabi-based Al Gharbia Pipe Company (AGPC), a manufacturer of longitudinally submerged arc welded (LSAW) steel pipes, has been recognized by the UAE’s Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology (MoIAT) as an Industry 4.0 Digital Leader.
Industry 4.0, or the Fourth Industrial Revolution, refers to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies
The certification highlights AGPC’s adoption of advanced technologies and its commitment to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, the company said in a statement
The certification, part of the UAE’s Operation 300 Bln strategy, recognizes companies that demonstrate advanced digital maturity and leadership in Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI and machine learning, to improve operational efficiency, sustainability, and industrial competitiveness.
AGPC was commended for its fully integrated production process, with all plant operations connected through its smart Manufacturing Execution System (MES) 4.0, which monitors, tracks, and adapts production in real time.
The company’s ISO/IEC 17025-certified testing laboratory ensures pipes meet stringent quality standards, while machine learning and computer vision technologies detect micro-defects to maintain safety and durability. Sustainability initiatives, including emissions reduction and water reuse, were also recognized.
Established in 2015, Al Gharbia Pipe Company (AGPC) is a joint venture between Senaat (ADQ), JFE Steel, and Marubeni Itochu Steel. Based in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), the company operates a 52,000-square-meter facility equipped with advanced automated systems. Since beginning production in 2019, AGPC has ramped up output to 360,000 tons annually, supplying carbon steel LSAW pipes, ranging from 18 to 60 inches in diameter, to oil and gas, industrial, and renewable energy sectors across the Middle East and beyond. The company holds key accreditations, including API 2B and 5L, ADNOC ICV, and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
