ArcelorMittal Projects, part of ArcelorMittal, has announced plans to develop its third manufacturing facility at the Hamriyah Free Zone (HFZA) in Sharjah. The new plant will cover around 1.4 mln square feet, with operations targeted to begin in 2026.
The expansion is aimed at increasing capacity in steel pipe manufacturing and specialized coating solutions. Once completed, ArcelorMittal Projects’ total land footprint at Hamriyah Free Zone will rise to approximately 5 mln square feet.
The company began operations at HFZA five years ago and currently operates two HSAW pipe mills, two 18-metre external coating lines, and an 18-metre internal coating line. The pipe mills produce diameters ranging from 16 to 100 inches, with wall thicknesses of 6-25.4 mm and lengths of 6-36 metres, and have a combined capacity of 150,000 tons per year.
The site is supported by custom coating facilities and advanced inspection and testing capabilities, including automated ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, radiographic testing, and an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, serving demand across regional industrial markets. While manufacturing operations are based in Sharjah, the company maintains a commercial presence in Dubai through ArcelorMittal DSTC FZE at Jebel Ali Free Zone.
