Beco Steel Limited has started supplying steel angles for electric transmission poles and related infrastructure to Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and various distribution companies (DISCOs) through indirect vendors, the company said in a stock exchange filing.
The company is now working toward inclusion in the approved vendor lists of these entities, which would allow direct participation in future power and infrastructure projects. Management expects this development to strengthen Beco Steel’s position in the power sector and boost sales, profitability, and market share.
Founded in 1984 and based in Lahore, Beco Steel operates with an annual melting capacity of 99,400 tons and rerolling capacity of 99,000 tons, producing billets, angles, channels, and round and square bars.
