Conares to supply rebar for school project in Dubai

Conares, the second-largest private steel manufacturer in the UAE, has partnered with Interstar Education Services and Al Saraya Engineering Consultants to develop Victory Heights Primary School in Dubai’s City of Arabia. This project underscores Conares’ commitment to sustainable development and regional infrastructure, as highlighted in a press release.

As part of the collaboration, Conares will supply 994 tons of its custom-made 18-meter rebar for the construction, ensuring the school meets regulatory standards and provides a modern, sustainable environment for students. Al Talaqi Building Contractor will execute the construction, with completion targeted for June 2025.

Al Saraya Engineering Consultants is handling the architectural design in partnership with R&D Studio, while Interstar Education Services oversees the educational aspects and will manage the campus.

Bharat Bhatia, Chairman and CEO of Conares, emphasized that the 18-meter rebar, the longest in the industry, will optimize the construction process, reduce material wastage, and support environmental conservation.

Denis Furtado, Project Manager at Al Talaqi, noted that using locally produced steel from Conares has provided cost-effective and reliable materials, reducing transportation costs.

Since its establishment in 1988, Conares has evolved from a steel trading entity to a prominent producer of rebar, pipes, and color-coated steel products. Presently, Conares stands as a major player in the industry with a total annual manufacturing capacity of 1.5 mln tons.
