Jai Raj Ispat commissions energy-efficient continuous rebar mill in Andhra Pradesh

India’s Jai Raj Ispat has completed the Performance Guarantee (PG) test for its 350,000-tons-per-year TMT bar mill at the Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, just two months after startup.

The facility is India’s first to operate using MIDA QLP (Quality Long Product) technology, a compact continuous setup integrating ladle refining, continuous casting, induction heating and high-speed rolling in an endless casting-rolling process.

This configuration allows Jai Raj Ispat to convert liquid steel directly into finished TMT bars in a single, energy-efficient sequence, reducing thermal losses, lowering energy consumption and enhancing metallurgical consistency.

The technology supports the production of high-quality rebars with reduced environmental impact and improved operating costs.

Incorporated in 1984, Jai Raj Ispat has manufacturing units in Telangana and Karnataka, producing sponge iron, billets and rebars.
