Jindal Steel Ltd. plans to double its structural steel manufacturing capacity at the Raigarh facility to 2.4 mln tons per year by mid-2028, up from the current 1.2 mln tons, according to a stock exchange filing.
The expansion will include the commissioning of a new dedicated structural steel mill, supported by advanced upstream and downstream technology upgrades as part of the company’s long-term growth roadmap.
Currently, the plant produces parallel flange sections ranging from 100 mm to 900 mm, with sectional weights of up to 333 kg per meter. Following the expansion, Jindal Steel will be able to manufacture ultra-heavy sections with depths of up to 1,100 mm and weights reaching 1,500 kg per meter, significantly enhancing its product portfolio for large-scale infrastructure and construction projects.
