Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has opened a new sales round for rebar, according to its latest price list.
The company offered rebar in 12-32 mm sizes at TRY 24,100 (USD 560) per ton EXW, compared with TRY 24,450 (USD 576) per ton in the previous round announced in November, when the exchange rate stood at 42.43 TRY per USD.
Market sources said the mill closed the round shortly after securing sizeable sales volumes.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, wire rods, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
