Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has raised prices for semi-finished and long steel products in its latest sales round, testing market sentiment amid rising costs linked to tensions in the Middle East.
The company increased billet prices by USD 15 per ton compared with the previous month. As a result, S235JR grade billet is now offered at USD 505 per ton EXW, while B420 grade billet is priced at USD 510 per ton EXW.
According to the latest price list, 12-32 mm rebar is offered at TRY 24,650 (USD 559) per ton EXW, up from TRY 23,835 (545) per ton EXW in the previous sales round last month, when the exchange rate stood at TRY 43.7 per USD.
Kardemir also raised wire rod prices by USD 10 per ton. 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade wire rod is now offered at USD 597 per ton EXW, while SAE 1008-1010 grades are offered at USD 587 per ton EXW.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, wire rods, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
