Turkish steel producer Kardemir has signed a new rail supply contract, according to a stock exchange filing.
The company will provide 15,000 tons of 60E2 and R260 grade rails for the Ankara-Izmir high-speed railway project.
Kardemir stated that deliveries will be made in three batches.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company’s product portfolio includes blooms, billets, rebars, profiles, and various other steel products, with manufacturing facilities strategically located in Karabuk.
