Kardemir has announced new prices for rebar and wire rod in its latest sales round.
According to the updated list, 12-32 mm rebar is offered at TRY 23,835 (USD 545) per ton EXW, slightly lower than TRY 23,915 (USD 551) per ton EXW in the previous round last month, when the exchange rate stood at 43.42 TRY per USD.
The company also cut wire rod prices by USD 10 per ton from earlier levels. 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade wire rod is now offered at USD 587 per ton EXW, while SAE 1008-1010 grades are offered at USD 577 per ton EXW.
In addition, Kardemir launched and subsequently closed a new billet sales round after securing significant volumes. S235JR billets were offered at USD 490 per ton EXW, down USD 5 per ton, while B420 billets were offered at USD 495 per ton EXW, a reduction of USD 10 per ton compared with previous levels.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company produces blooms, billets, rebars, wire rods, profiles along with other steel products. The company’s production facilities are located in Karabuk.
