Linde has signed agreements to de-captivate two air separation units (ASUs) and expand its industrial gas supply to Tata Steel Limited in Odisha, India. Currently, Linde operates two on-site plants that supply industrial gases to Tata Steel’s facility at the Kalinganagar Industrial Complex. With the acquisition of two additional large ASUs, Linde will more than double its on-site capacity, with transfer expected in 2025.
A long-term agreement has also been established for the supply of oxygen, nitrogen, and argon to support Tata Steel’s capacity expansion project. The new ASUs will also supply industrial gases to the local merchant market. Additionally, Linde has secured agreements for renewable energy supply to the plants, aligning with its 2035 goal to reduce Scope 2 emissions.
