Miilux Oy completes acquisition of Haggblom from Metso

Miilux Oy, a subsidiary of Oyak, has completed the acquisition of Haggblom from Metso, following regulatory approvals. The agreement was signed in December, when Metso announced the divestment of its loading and hauling business in Finland and Sweden operating under the Haggblom entities.

The transaction includes Haggblom’s manufacturing facilities in Finland and Sweden. Through the acquisition, Miilux will produce mining buckets, dumpers and gears, while providing on-site services and after-sales support to the Scandinavian mining sector. Miilux said it plans to utilize Haggblom’s idle capacity to lift output, profitability and its European market presence.

Founded in 1954, Haggblom manufactures mining equipment such as buckets and platforms and provides maintenance services, with core markets in Finland and Sweden.

Miilux, founded in Finland and acquired by Oyak in 2019, specializes in heat-treated, high-strength steel products and operates a major production hub in Manisa, Turkey, including armour steel manufacturing. OYAK is one of Turkey’s largest industrial groups, with interests across steel, mining and manufacturing.
