Minister explores collaboration with ArcelorMittal Jubail in oil and gas pipeline manufacturing

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, engaged in talks with a delegation from Saudi company ArcelorMittal Jubail to explore potential cooperation in the manufacturing of oil and gas pipelines, the Egypt State Information Service, an Egyptian government agency affiliated to the Egyptian Presidency, said in a press release.

The discussions took place as part of Egypt’s efforts to strengthen its energy sector. While details of the discussions were not disclosed, ArcelorMittal Jubail highlighted their success in securing a recent tender from Petrobel, having supplied around 47,000 tons of pipelines since 2018.

ArcelorMittal Jubail’s facility, established through a partnership between ArcelorMittal, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and Al-Tanmiah Industrial and Commercial Investment Company, serves the growing energy-producing markets in the Middle East and North Africa. The company provides seamless tubes and other products to the oil and gas industry for industrial and construction applications. With a designed capacity exceeding 600,000 tons per annum, the Jubail plant supplies pipes ranging from 4 to 16 inches for OCTG applications, as well as seamless line pipes for onshore and offshore operations, refineries, and fuel storage facilities.
