Mobarakeh Steel halts operations after airstrikes

Iran’s Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) has halted all production operations following a series of airstrikes by U.S. and Israeli forces, according to company statements and media reports.

The Isfahan-based steelmaker confirmed a complete shutdown of its facilities after sustaining severe damage to key production units, including direct reduction plants, steelmaking furnaces and power infrastructure.

All production lines are currently offline, and employees have been instructed to stay away from the site for safety reasons.

Market sources indicate that restoration of operations could take between six months and one year, depending on the extent of the damage.

The shutdown follows multiple waves of strikes in late March and early April targeting Iran’s industrial infrastructure. Other major producers, including Khuzestan Steel, have also suspended operations, raising concerns over significant disruption to the country’s steel output.
