MRC to launch new scrap recycling plant

Kuwait-based Metal Recycling Company (MRC) is on track to open its new steel scrap recycling plant later this year. This development was announced in a stock exchange filing by MRC’s parent company, Agility Public Warehousing Company KSCP. Agility is a global leader in supply chain services, infrastructure, and innovation, with public listings in both Kuwait and Dubai.

Once operational, the plant will have the capacity to recycle approximately 60,000 tons of steel scrap annually. This significant effort is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 20,000 to 90,000 tons each year.

In addition to steel, MRC has also secured a license for recycling used batteries, with those operations slated to begin in 2025.

MRC has a long-standing history, providing sustainable waste management, recycling, and industrial solutions since 1987. Their diverse clientele includes government entities, oil and gas companies, petrochemical industries, manufacturing firms, and various commercial clients.
